The Paris Art and Culture visit was a meticulously organized, seven-day experience blending historic sightseeing, professional media production, and unforgettable leisure. The trip began smoothly with a comfortable flight and a welcoming arrival, followed by settling into the modern and spacious Ecla accommodation.
Day 1 concluded magically with the breath-taking sight of the Eiffel Tower sparkling at night. The following days were rich in Parisian exploration. Day 2 featured a classic French breakfast, a scenic Seine River boat ride, and visits to iconic landmarks like the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs-Élysées, and the romantic Wall of Love, culminating in stunning city views from Sacré-Cœur. Day 3 continued the cultural immersion, with visits to the magnificent Place de l’Hôtel de Ville and a spiritual stop at a grand cathedral. We admired the exterior of the Louvre Museum and ended the day with an awe-inspiring trip to the very top of the Eiffel Tower, offering panoramic city views.
A critical highlight was Day 4, which focused on professional development. After exploring the luxurious Galeries Lafayette, the team headed to DBIMA for a real-world ZARA Ad campaign shoot. Working as the Assistant Director, I gained invaluable, hands-on experience in crew management and production logistics, mentored by Pritesh Sir. This immersive session taught profound lessons about teamwork and direction, making it an inspiring moment of creative growth.
The excitement continued with leisure and fun. Day 5 was a relaxing shopping day at a large outlet mall, allowing for personal exploration of Parisian fashion. Day 6 was dedicated entirely to Disneyland Paris, a "magical" experience described as a childhood dream come true, featuring the grand parade, exciting rides, and spectacular fireworks.
The trip concluded on Day 7 with a farewell dinner and reflection. The team watched their short films and expressed deep gratitude to the professors (Pritesh Sir, Abner) and the organizers (Sandra Ma’am and Edita Ma’am) for their unwavering support, meticulous coordination, and guidance.
This Paris journey was not just a tour of art and culture, but a profound and beautiful learning experience that fostered significant personal and creative growth.

Grateful and Overwhelmed by the experience in the Study Tour organised by DBIMA and XIC Representatives along with the teachers and other mentors/students as our guides, helped and co operated with us, the students, throughout the Paris tour and with collective efforts made it a memorable, informative and a lifelong learning and experience through this initiative. Personally, I hadn’t thought enough or expected anything huge to take back from this trip. I was solely motivated by the travel and exploring the beauty and awe Paris streets, lifestyle and people hold, and being associated with DBIMA both as a Don Bosco School alumni and an inquisitive learner as an aspiring Filmmaker. Even though, I returned back with some wisdom learning about France/Paris and fond memories and connected with lots of new people.
Art: Paris exhibits a pervasive influence of art, from classic collections at the Louvre Museum (like the Mona Lisa and Greek Sculptures) to modern street art and graffiti found throughout the streets and subways, including uses of art on civilian and famous graves.
Culture & Society: The Parisian lifestyle is noted for its distinguished approach to dining (cafés, local bars, bakeries) and its significant global influence on fashion and style, with Paris being a leading fashion capital.
Architecture & History: Historic landmarks showcase unique, heritage architecture that educates visitors about French culture and history.
The Eiffel Tower: An emblem of 19th-century engineering, elegance, and modernity, offering panoramic views across its three public levels.
Notre Dame de Paris: A quintessential example of French Gothic architecture, known for its innovative flying buttresses. The cathedral's beauty was highlighted and its preservation sparked by Victor Hugo's novel.
Hôtel des Invalides: A classical French Baroque structure with a gilded dome, housing the Tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte.
Musée de l’Armée (Army Museum): Spans French history, with exhibits including Napoleon’s personal effects and armor.
Filmmaking Experience (DBIMA/XIC): As an FTV student from XIC, the author gained practical experience by observing and assisting DBIMA students who were shooting films with excellent equipment, providing an important "different outlook" on working on a set.

Study travel on Arts & Cultural exchange in Paris from November 12 to 20, 2023
We explored the cultural treasures of Paris, starting with the majestic Sacré-Cœur and the fascinating Army museum, delving into Notre Dame through a captivating VR show, strolled along the Seine River capturing picturesque moments, and admired the Hotel de Ville in various lights. The labyrinthine lanes around Notre Dame offered an architectural spectacle, and a visit to Le BHV Marais mall added a touch of modernity to our day - ecology workshop, explored the Galleria de' Evolution museum, the view of the Opera House undergoing renovation, and wrapped up the day with a vibrant Diwali party. Along with the view of Diana Memorial, a scenic boat ride across the river, and a mesmerizing tour of iconic landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Notre Dame, Conciergerie, and Musée d'Orsay.
The Louvre museum, with its treasures like the Mona Lisa and the Wedding Feast, provided a captivating end to our Parisian adventure. The mesmerizing play of lights on the iconic structure created a magical atmosphere, making the night visit an unforgettable experience, while the ascent to the tower offered panoramic views of Paris, and exploring its intricate details during daylight added a different dimension to the adventure, revealing the architectural marvel in all its splendour.
"What feels like a dream at this moment is a reality we lived, and we cherish the beautiful memories tucked away in a special corner."
