by Achal Gunjal, JR Batch 2023-24

The students of journalism launched the magazine ‘Youth Unbound’ on March 22. The magazine is written and designed by journalism students. The chief guest for the occasion was Chinki Sinha, Editor, Outlook.
The event commenced with students displaying a wide range of talents including poetry, dance and acting. The performances were followed by a short explanation of what went behind the making of the 140-page book.
The chief guest then launched the magazine. In her talk, Sinha displayed numerous Outlook covers that used art and poetry to portray the political situation of the country. She spoke at length about the stories covered in her magazine. She was then interviewed by a student. The conversation proved to be a healthy discussion that covered a wide range of topics including storytelling, the sate of journalism in the country and how nothing today is a ‘soft story.’ She said that everything from art, culture and water is political.
Apart from the launch, the students also displayed the digital version of the magazine that can be accessed online. The event came to an end on a musical note.
