XIC 53rd Annual Convocation

The XIC 53rd Annual Convocation was held on 15th April, 2023 at the iconic St. Xavier’s College quadrangle, Mumbai. The event was attended in large numbers by parents, faculty members esteemed guests and students. Rector of St. Xavier’s College, Dr. Fr. Keith D’Souza, SJ welcomed the gathering with a prayer and also addressed.
Later, Fr. Conrad Pesso, Director-XIC addressed the gathering, followed by review of Academic year 2022 – 2023 was given by Dean, Sandra D’Souza Rana.
The Chief Guest was Mr. John Mathan, Filmmaker, who shared his insights and work experiences in this speech, the Guest of Honour was Mr. Vilas Bade, Senior New Anchor at News 18 Lokmat, who also sharing his own media experiences and the challenges ahead.
Ignatian Award was awarded to Utkarsh Agarwal., who gave his accpetance speech, and the Best All-Round Student was Ankur Kumar Pandey, who gave his Valedictorian speech.
Public Reations & Corporate Communication, Best Student to Prashi Sinha, and Best Student Runner-up to Rujuta Deshmukh.
Advertising & Marketing, Best Student (Batch A) to Priya Shrivastava , and Best Student (Batch B) to Mahi Tewari, Best Student Runner-up (Batch A) to Divya Metkar, and Best Student Runner-up (Batch B) to Palak Kirti Atha.
Journalism & Mass Communication, and Best Student to Gayatri Menon, and Runner-up to Kairavi Amit Lukka.
Event Planning & Experiential Marketing, Best Student to Jugat Gulati.
Film, Television & Digital Video Production, Best Student to Akshay Shringarpure, Best Student Runner-up to Elricho De Garca Gomes.
The Ranjana Kacker Memorial Award for Outstanding Research Paper in Journalism & Mass Communication, 2021-2022 was Yamini Kalia.
The Ranjana Kacker Memorial Award, for the Best Video Documentary Production Journalism & Mass Communication, 2022-2023, was "Watch Wizards" team members: Chinmay Vasdev, Esha Lohia, Shristi Lalwani, Deepjoy Das & Tarkesh Jha.
Venkat Vemulapalli Memorial Award, for Best Ad Films, and Best Live Projects
ADMA (A) - The Best Ad Film to “Ruk Jao na Ji” team members: Krati Vatsalya, Atharva Jadhav, Shashank Bidkar, Siddharth Sankaranarayanan, Charmy Jakhariya, Mahalakshmi M, Durgeshnandini Naik, Charu Bhagania, Saif Caleb Ali, Samruddhi Jadhav & Alathi Yanamadala.
ADMA (A) - Best Ad Film Runner-Up to “Start Small” to team members: Sanchey Agarwal, Mansi Arora, Abhinav Garg, Shristi Gupta, Mahasvin Raj Mittal, Divya Metkar, Anamika Raj, Zainab Taher Sohangpurwala, Dhruvika, Chirasha Kapoor & Dhawal Sareen.
ADMA (B) - Best Ad Film goes to “Flick the Switch”, team members: Mansingh Soren, Anushree Rao, Shohini Sarkar, Suranjana Sarkar, Samriddhi Gupta, Meghna Dasgupta, Shoborna Kumar Ghosh, Shravani Kulkarni, Akshata Virkar & Sanya Sharma.
ADMA (B) - Best Ad Film Runner-Up goes to “Take the Leap”, Team members: Pratiksha Mishra, Palak Jain, Eesha Sharma, Siddharth Thayil, Gaura Tikku, Ishita Salotra, Janhvi Phansekar, Aashay Hastak & Nikita Jain.

The BBDO India award for the best creative act for social change, was “Act not Ads”, team members: Sanchey Agarwal, Mansi Arora, Abhinav Garg, Shristi Gupta, Mahasvin Raj Mittal, Divya Metkar, Anamika Raj, Zainab Sohangpurwala, Dhruvika, Chirasha Kapoor & Dhawal Sareen.
The Ouseph Anthony Memorial Award for the Best Social Documentary by Film Television & Digital Video Production students, to the Documentary “Pav ki Baat” to team members: Ritwik Chakraborty, Adrija Sanyal, Rohan Palodhi & Nihareka Das.
The Underdog Award for the Best Copywriter in Advertising & Marketing Course to Imad Javid Baig.
The Best Video Documentary from Event Planning & Experiential Marketing Course to "Istoria 2023" team members: Ishika Das, Gayatri Havele, Kimaya Ilave, Prakhar Pandey, Snigdha Sharma.
