Theatre & Immersive Stagecraft Workshop  for Event Planning & Experiential Marketing students
10th-12th December 2025

“All the world’s a stage, And all the men and women merely players.”

William Shakespeare

True to Shakespeare’s words, the Theatre and Stagecraft Workshop conducted at the Xavier Institute of Communications (XIC) offered EPEM students an immersive introduction to the world of performance. Led by theatre practitioner Sushant Waidande, the three-day, five-session workshop (from 10th-12th December 2025) focused on helping students step into the theatre space with confidence and awareness.

The workshop began with an introduction to the history of theatre and its various forms, providing students with a strong conceptual foundation. This was followed by a series of vocal and physical exercises designed to build control, presence, and alignment between the body and voice. Through recitations and the exploration of Navrasa, students learned to access and express a range of emotions, deepening their emotional vocabulary.

A particularly engaging segment involved freeze-frame theatre, where students re-enacted scenes from the Ramayana, using stillness and expression to communicate powerful narratives. Improvisation exercises further challenged participants to think quickly, trust their instincts, and push creative boundaries.

The workshop concluded with a final performance in the XIC main hall, where students showcased their learning on stage. Overall, the experience went beyond theatre, strengthening communication, emotional expression, and self-confidence, skills essential both on and off the stage.
