Orientation Programme for AICP Batch 2022-23

The new batch of Advanced Integrated Communication Programme – AICP 2022-23 commenced with an Orientation programme on Saturday 25 June 2022 at 2.00 p.m.
Romeo Monteiro, staff member was the compere for the programme. He welcomed the students to Xavier’s which is not just a College but a way of life. Dr. Shaison P. Ouseph, Associate Dean, Technical welcomed the students with a prayer song. The guest speaker for the day was Professor Emeritus Dr. Jehangir B. Mistry Jangoo sir, as he has fondly been referred to by students over the years had many an anecdote in his short but precise speech. He spoke of AI - Artificial Intelligence, VI – Virtual Intelligence, and the fact that Social Media is here to stay. He emphasised on relying on facts, deep research before publishing any kind of copy, to stay away from Fake News. He addressed the pandemic and the following lockdown, and how it brought back the family time which we had been losing in the recent years. “Take time to smell the roses” is the expression he urged the students to follow. His speech was well received by all present.
Mr. Rajeev Chawla the Course Head of AICP then addressed the students, gave them course details and the Jesuit teaching, of Magis – to give more. How we should incorporate it and push ourselves to achieve more…
The students had Library Orientation with Ms. Aparna Bagwe, Librarian after a short refreshments break.
