Leading with Vision: MCDM Students Guide Visually Impaired Trekkers on an Unforgettable Journey
21-September-2025
On Sunday (September 21, 2025) - ten visually impaired trekkers stepped onto a trail that stretched six kilometres. Walking beside them were 12 sighted volunteers - students of the MCDM PG Diploma course at XIC (Batch of 2025-2026), who weren’t just guides, but companions.
What unfolded was more than a trek. It was laughter echoing through the hills, small conversations that turned into lessons, and every step taken with trust and empathy. The distance mattered less than the bonds being built.
During the trek, we realised that inclusion wasn’t just a concept in a classroom; it was an experience one could witness and live. A journey where everyone felt seen, heard, and valued. And as the path ended, one thought lingered: may we always find new trails to walk together.
