Journalism & Media Convergence students visited the BMC office

The visit to the BMC headquarters, arranged on the 21st of July by Mrs. Richa Pinto, was an insightful experience for the JR batch. It began with a guided tour of the heritage building, followed by meetings with Mr. Mahesh Narvekar, Chief Officer of the Disaster Management Unit, and Mr. Sanjay Manjrekar, Chief Fire Officer.
A candid 15-minute conversation with Municipal Commissioner Ashwini Bhide, IAS, provided strategic perspectives, and the visit concluded with an interaction with an official from the Waste Management department.
The sessions offered clear insight into the scale and complexity of civic administration in Mumbai, highlighting their responsibilities and the coordination required to deliver these services effectively.
As the day came to an end, the cohort had a deeper appreciation for the dedication and responsibility of civic officials and their role in maintaining the city’s safety and functionality.
