The Xavier Institute of Communications hosted an interactive seminar “Deep dive into the business of film and OTT series making". The speakers involved were Sejal Shah (director and producer at Bombay Fables), Prapti Doshi Moorthy (veteran creative producer), Rohit Vedprakash (former Netflix director and producer), and Samina Motlekar (scriptwriter and columnist).
The session brought together students from Mass Communication and Digital Media, and Film & Television for a lively and insightful discussion on the evolving world of storytelling in the Bollywood industry. The speakers shared their journeys, real world experiences from sets, and behind the scenes insights from iconic projects like Delhi Crime 2, Asur 2, and Mismatched.
Students engaged actively, asking questions about scripting, production challenges, and the balance between creativity and technology. The discussion also covered how AI is reshaping the industry, the creative pressures of OTT platforms, and the importance of staying authentic in storytelling.
Filled with anecdotes, laughter, and honest advice, the session was both educational and inspiring, leaving students energized and motivated to explore the new-age world of cinema and digital storytelling.
