The Value Add Session titled “Factly’s Decode Series: Dealing with Misinformation” was an insightful and interactive learning experience conducted in collaboration with Factly Media & Research. Fact-Checker & Media Producer), who collectively shared their expertise on the increasing challenges of misinformation and AI-generated deepfakes in today’s media environment.
Through engaging discussions and hands-on activities, students were encouraged to identify AI-altered visuals and verify facts using credible tools and sources. The speakers emphasized how misinformation can easily influence people, especially in rural areas or among everyday social media users, and discussed the urgent need to make media a lot more credible and trustworthy.
The session was highly engaging, thought-provoking, and informative, leaving students more aware of how to critically evaluate the content they consume and share in the digital space.
