Beyond Classrooms: The Spirit of Sports Day at XIC
31-January-2026
Sports Day at Xavier Institute of Communications (XIC) came as a refreshing escape from packed schedules, tight deadlines, and the constant rhythm of lectures. Giving students the chance to step out of classrooms and into the field for an outing filled with energy, laughter, and pure adrenaline.
The excitement unfolded across a variety of sporting events, including table tennis, badminton, tug-of-war, cricket, and football. From intense rallies on the badminton court to nail-biting moments on the cricket pitch and football ground, every match carried a sense of thrill. The tug of war, in particular, became a crowd favourite, drawing loud cheers and collective encouragement, with the sidelines turning into a sea of shouting, clapping, and unstoppable enthusiasm.
Beyond the matches, what truly stood out was the spirit of togetherness. It wasn’t just about winning; it was about showing up for each other, cheering till voices gave out, and enjoying the madness of the moment. The day felt less like a formal sports event and more like a crazy, much-needed break where everyone let go, laughed freely, and made memories on the field.
The MCDM department emerged as a standout performer, clinching victories in cricket, football, and tug of war. However, their greatest strength was the unwavering support from fellow students, who brought unmatched energy from the benches, motivating their teammates at every step.
Sports Day at XIC proved that learning goes far beyond classrooms. It was a powerful reminder of the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, resilience, and community. More than just a competition, it was a day of bonding, celebration, and joy one that gave everyone a pause from routine and a reason to smile long after the games ended.
