The students of Public Relations and Corporate Communication at Xavier Institute of
Communication (XIC) had the opportunity to visit MSL, Lower Parel on 3rd of December, 2025,
for an insightful industry exposure session. The visit offered a comprehensive overview of the
contemporary PR landscape and the diverse verticals within a leading global agency.
The session began with an introduction by Schubert Fernandes, who offered a detailed
familiarisation with the PR industry and MSL’s position within it. His discussion set the context
for understanding the evolving role of communications professionals and the agency’s
integrated approach.
This was followed by an engaging presentation from Aziz Khan, who showcased one of MSL’s
successful PR campaigns in the automobile sector. Through this example, he highlighted the
strategic thinking and creativity required to drive impactful media presence for clients in a highly
competitive industry.
Next, Anushka Sibal walked the students through the agency’s digital practices. She explained how MSL is structured into smaller specialised groups according to the nature of work, ensuring
focused expertise across different domains. Her session emphasised the increasing importance
of digital integration in modern PR.
Students then interacted with CK, the lead for the FinCom (Financial Communications) practice.
He elaborated on how MSL manages financial clients, the sensitivity involved, and the key
aspects to look out for when handling communication in this sector.
This was followed by Anjali Ray, who works with corporate clients. She presented case studies
showcasing the agency’s successful collaborations with brands such as Mondelez, Welspun,
Budweiser, and IKEA, illustrating the breadth of MSL’s corporate influence.
The final session was conducted by Jemima Vaz, an XIC alumna from the 2019 PR & Corporate
Communication batch, now a manager at MSL. She shared her journey, including her academic experiences abroad in America and her professional growth within the agency, offering valuable
inspiration to the students.
At the end, students explored the office and interacted with professionals working in the office
on topics related to their career there, more discussions about PR and engagement with more
Alumni working there.
The visit was not only informative but also fun, as students enjoyed the lively discussions,
friendly interactions, and the chance to see real PR work up close. It made the whole
experience both engaging and memorable.
