Course Outline and Method

The Event Planning & Experiential Marketing course is a 10-months full time Post-graduate Diploma Programme. The course is crafted to equip and prepare students for a career in the Event Planning & Management, Experiential Marketing, Activations and Live Entertainment Industry. While students will be introduced via exhaustive modules to the basics of Event Planning and Experiential Marketing, there will also be engaging and interactive classroom sessions with top professionals from the industry. These will provide real insights into the nuances of the business substantiated with case studies - all with a view to keeping the programme fresh, exciting and unique.

A substantial part of the course will be focused around practical training, workshops, research and trade assignments individually or in groups under the guidance of the faculty. The course will also integrate the disciplines of Brand Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Mass Media, Digital, Audio-Video Production and futuristic platforms of Technology to make for a well-rounded event professional. The course comprises 31 modules, a total of 420 sessions (83 credits) makes the student eligible for the diploma. Minimum 75% attendance is mandatory for every Module. The attendance is taken into consideration while grading / marking. Grades / Marks will be downgraded from the performance based credits.

Eligibility

  • Anyone holding a graduate degree in Arts, Science, Mass Media, Commerce or any professional course etc. (Students, awaiting their graduation results, should submit a photocopy of the final year mark sheet of Second Semester to the Administration Office) failing which they will not be eligible for the XIC Diploma). There is an on-line entrance test followed by personal interview.

Class Timings (and Location)

  • The course is conducted over week days - Monday to Saturday (9.00am - 8.30 pm), with two to three sessions daily. Workshops and Seminars are usually scheduled for Saturdays, they are also given marks and hence compulsory to attend.

There are varied job opportunities in Event Planning and Management in areas of Business Development, Client Servicing, Creative Design, Copy and Content Writing, Operations and Production, Artiste and Celebrity Management, Wedding Planning, Digital Planning and Strategy, Activations and Brand Promotions, Intellectual Properties and Exhibitions.

These opportunities arise across Events, Experiential and Live Entertainment Agencies, Media Houses, Television and Broadcast Media, Big Corporate Houses, Advertising Agencies and Digital Platforms.
