On 28th January the XIC woods was decked for
the annual awards night function. The theme of the event was
‘Xuberance in Colours’ symbolising diversity in our nature. The
event was conceptualized and executed by the Public Relations
(PR) Batch as part of their curriculum. The four hour long event
was an extravaganza of entertainment with performances from
other batches (English and Marathi Journalism, FTV and ADMA)
followed by dinner and dance. The event was inaugurated by
Father Lawrence Ferrao S.J. Director XIC and attended by the
faculty and administrative staff too.
The awards for students and faculty/staff were given on
stage, these awards are judged by the students themselves .This
year as part of the pre event activities, contests were held for
students including backdrop design, short film and photography.
Cash prizes were given for the winning entries for the short
film (7500/- in total) and photography contest (2500/- in
total). This year is also special for two reasons first the
official launch of Yearbook (unveiled by the Director during the
event), designed by the PR Batch for all XIC Students and the
sports day, basketball and Soccer matches among the various
batches. Both these events have been organized for the first
time in XIC history. As part of promotion Facebook campaign was
launched along with a website
