Our Fieldtrip to Lonavala

01-October-2014

At daybreak on the 28th of September, students of Film, Television and Digital Video Production headed by Professor Anju Daswani, Professor Satish Bhatia and Professor J.B. Mistry set out for their first fieldtrip to Lonavala.
A trip that would be etched in our memories forever. We were staying at the Kune Mission surrounded by lush greeneries and a stunning waterfall. The pristine, unspoiled beauty of Lonavala is every photographers dream destination. The lessons from the teachers under the virgin skies and striking surroundings were enjoyed by one and all. On the first day we learned the basics of art and aesthetics and spent a wonderful time painting bottles.

In the evening we set out to the famous Khandala Market to do some low light photography and experience the market in all its glory. The second day we woke up at the crack of dawn to photograph the rising sun, the burst of colors at dawn and its beguiling beauty entranced us.
The rest of the day was reserved for against the light photography, the experience was enriching. In the evening we went to the Lonavala Wax Museum and the main market. What we students will remember the most about this trip is how we bonded with each other over piping hot cups of coffee forming strong ties of friendship.

Perhaps the best and the most exciting part of the trip was when we visited the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, the mecca of all filmmakers. We walked through the halls which witnessed the rise of several great film makers.
We brought back with us a bundle of delightful chikkis and some wonderful memories.
