Harbinger

Harbinger, the annual event of the Film Television & Digital Video Production (FT) was held on 17 April, 2015 also, the last academic day of college. It was organised under the supervision of Satish Bhatia, Course Head and Vikas Desai, senior faculty member. This year Harbinger held an even more special significance since it was revived after a break of three years.
The idea behind Harbinger is to congratulate and commemorate those alumni who have taken the beacon of XIC ahead in the industry, achieved success in their respective fields with their achievements and thus opened the gates for the future students.
The entire XIC family was present for the event to welcome the chief guest, Shri Sachin Pilgaonkar, who felicitated all the awardees for the night. From directors Prawal Raman (Darna Mana Hain), Rohit Joshi (Bhatukli), Vibhu Kashyap (Aaahat) to eminent critic Kunal Desai and vivacious Radio Jockey Sucharita Tyagi and the versatile Nirmalya Majumdar (Nirmalya Entertainment Organisation), the event recognized alumni from every field possible. The alumni shared their experiences inside as well as outside the campus and how things are changing in the industry today, while Mr. Pilgaonkar ended the day with an inspiring speech in which he stressed that each one of us must have a thirst, a thirst to learn, a thirst to better ourselves, a thirst for newness. He also said that we should look ahead, not dwell on the past and very importantly, take failure in stride. That failure is a part of growth process and helps us to better our future.
The students had prepared special video clippings for the awardees as well as guest of honor, and a small farewell video for their batch. An evening filled with fun, simplicity, nostalgia and some new fond memories, Harbinger 2015 reiterated the fact that big things indeed come in small packages.
